MG Hector Plus: Styling, interior, features and more detailed in images

The MG Hector Plus is the MG Motor India’s second product launch which will be followed by more models soon. The new Hector Plus is a slightly premium version of the Hector SUV already on sale, and it offers a 6-seat configuration.

Even though the Hector and Hector Plus are essentially the same SUVs, MG has ensured that the Hector and the Hector Plus are differentiated from each other with different styling cues. The Hector Plus uses a larger and wider front grille which are linked to the new eyebrow style high positioned LED DRLs, the bumper-mounted headlamps have been redesigned and so are is bumper itself. The rear tail-lamp although similar offers a subtly different look as well.

While in profile the Hector Plus is fairly identical to the Hector as it also uses the sale set of alloy wheels, the rear has been tweaked to help further differentiate them. The Hector Plus will feature a tweaked rear bumper, the red plastic strip between the tail-lamps have been removed from the tailgate which helps make the Hector Plus look more appealing.

The party piece of the Hector Plus is the seating layout. The Hector Plus will be offered in India as a 6-seat model. The Hector Plus will come equipped with captain seats in the second row and a bench to accommodate two more passengers in the third row. While at the Auto Expo when the Hector Plus was unveiled, MG announced that it will also be offered with a 7-seat option which would mean a bench second-row seat, but we will have to wait till the vehicle is launched to find out if it will be offered in tandem.

Staying with the interior of the Hector Plus, MG will offer new tan leather upholstery. The seats, door trim panels, and the dashboard will feature a tan colour contrast. As for the dashboard itself, the layout is identical to what is offered with the Hector.

The Hector Plus will use the portrait-oriented 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, it will come with MG’s i-SMART connected car technology with e-SIM enabling over 55 connected features. They will come integrated with Ghana app, geofencing, find my car, remote vehicle control, online navigation, an intelligent voice assistant, vehicle diagnostics, and the software will be able to update itself over the air through the internet.

Safety features on the MG Hector will include a long list of features like ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, up to 6 airbags, 360-degree parking camera, ESP, TCS, Hill Hold Assist, tyre pressure monitors, rear disc-brakes and more.

In terms of comfort features, the MG Hector Plus will come loaded to the brim with toys. The Hector Plus will feature 6-way power adjust driver seat and 4-way power adjust front passenger seat, digital driver’s instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, a powered tail-gate opening with hands-free function, heated ORVMs, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, premium sound system by Infinity with 8 speakers, among many more
