IPS officer complains of cyber fraud

BHUBANESWAR: Senior IPS officer Pranabindu Acharya on Thursday lodged a complaint with the cyber cell of the Crime Branch alleging that somebody created a fake Facebook account in his name.
“I received a call from a friend about the fake ID. The miscreants had sent a message to my friend asking him to send some money. I immediately lodged the complaint,” said Acharya, who is the additional director-general of police (railways and coastal security). In the recent past, two district collectors had lodged similar complaints with the police.
