‘Asian piece of shit’: Tech CEO caught on camera abusing family at a restaurant
Michael Lofthouse, the chief executive of a San Francisco-based cloud computing company called Solid8 was thrown out of a restaurant after he started to abuse an Asian American family who were there to celebrate the birthday of a family member. The entire incident was caught on camera by Jordan Chan and was posted on Twitter and Instagram. It was only after the video went viral that the person was identified as Lofthouse.

After several media reports called out Lofthouse, he finally gave a statement to ABC7 News and apologised. "My behavior in the video is appalling. This was clearly a moment where I lost control and made incredibly hurtful and divisive comments. I would like to deeply apologize to the Chan family,” reads Lofthouse statement to the family as quoted by ABC7 News.

Chan was celebrating the birthday of a family member over the Fourth of July holiday weekend at a restaurant in Lucia. As the family started to sing happy birthday, Lofthouse started “yelling disgusting racist remarks”," said Chan.

Lofthouse can be clearly seen and heard in the video saying: ‘Trump's going to f**k you’ and ‘you need to leave’. And he even called the family "Asian piece of shit."

Meanwhile, a waitress who wasn’t serving Lofthouse stepped in and provided support to the family. She was quick to make it clear that Lofthouse’s behaviour wasn’t appreciated at all and he should never come back to the same place. "You need to leave right now, get out, you are not allowed here, get out now, you do not talk to our guests like that, they are valued guests, you are not allowed here ever again,” said the waitress named Gennica Cochran while confronting the CEO in the video.

The company, Solid8, hasn’t released a public statement yet about the behaviour of its CEO.
