PATNA: Congress Rajya Sabha MP and Bihar in-charge Shaktisinh Gohil on Thursday said all was well in Mahagatbandhan and they will declare their chief minister candidate before the announcement of assembly election.
When asked about differences among their alliance partners over CM's face, and RJD's continuous insistence over leader of opposition in the state assembly Tejashwi Prasad as their CM candidate, Gohil replied, " Everything is completely fine in our alliance. No one needs to worry over the issues related to the CM candidate or coordination committee. All like minded parties will contest the election together."
Gohil, who was on his three day visit to Patna not only met his party leaders and attended meetings with different committees of state Congress , but even seemed to be coordinating among different alliance partners.
Talking about bonhomie between RJD and Congress, Gohil said he was invited by Tejashwi over dinner on Tuesday night and ate together with a few senior party leaders. "Today in the evening I will be meeting Manjhi Ji (Jitan Ram Manjhi) over tea. Even Kushwaha Ji (RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha) had called me over the phone and we will be meeting in Delhi. Our heart is one and we have the same aim. There is no problem at all, but yes, definitely there are problems in NDA"
When asked about the rumours of few Congress MLAs planning to switch to JD(U), Gohil replied, "I have faith in our party leaders. In fact, those who have gone are now regretting. They were hero in Congress and now they are zero. They used to sit in the front and now they are made to sit back."
He lashed at the state government over various issues, including the way migrant labrourers were handled and health infrastructure in Bihar. Gohil said people of Bihar were fed up and wanted a change. He said his party after coming to power will revive the old glory of Bihar and added, " With a positive agenda, we will provide a viable option to the people of Bihar."
He also lashed out at the central government for ignoring the advice given by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding preparation to tackle Covid-19.
"They were busy forming a government in Madhya Pradesh and after that they announced a lockdown. Even when lockdown was announced, Covid-19 positive cases were detected in rich people who had returned from abroad. Had the government acted tactfully and transported migrant workers using 12615 passenger trains, the condition would have been better," said Gohil.
Gohil also asked PM Narendra Modi to take stern action against China, instead of just banning a few apps. Gohil said, "We are with the government and we will never compromise on foreign policy or do politics on such issues. Twenty jawans of Bihar regiment got martyred and PM Modi has not even once taken China's name. Just by banning Tik Tok will not help."
