Representative imageAMBALA: In the biggest spike in a single day, 34 people tested positive for Covid-19 including 20 from cloth market, Ambala City and a woman police official, while 25 patients got discharged after they reported negative for the virus in Ambala district on Thursday said district civil surgeon Dr Kuldeep Singh.
"With the recovery rate of 83.80% and mortality rate of 1.38%, the total tally of Covid-19 positive cases reached 426 in Ambala district on Thursday, out of which, 357 patients got discharged, five patients died and 64 are active cases", said Dr Kuldeep.
"A total of 25 patients got discharged from hospital isolation after they reported negative for Covid-19 in Ambala district on Thursday", said Dr Kuldeep.
About the fresh positive case, Dr Kuldeep said, "Thirty-four people tested positive including 20 from cloth market, Ambala City on Thursday in the district. The positive patients are in the age group of 9 to 44 years and they belong to different areas of Ambala district."
To a query, Dr Kuldeep said, "The positive patients reported from the areas including Mochi Mandi, Milap Nagar and Boh village of Ambala Cantt, some areas of Ambala city including Police Lines, New Model Colony, Navneet Nagar, Ratangarh, Anand Vihar, Jaggi Colony, Mahavir Nagar, Moti Nagar, Hari Mandir Patel Road, Kaith Majri, Sector 10, Railway Road, Shalimar Colony, Ravidas Basti, Housing Board Colony, Circular Road Ghas Mandi, Milap Nagar, and Sonia Colony. Other patients reported from Baragaon in Shahzadpur area, Naneola village, Naraingarh, Lakhra Mandi Barara and of Derabassi, Mohali."
"A total of 400 samples were collected in Ambala district on Thursday following the total number of sample collection surpassed 19,000. So far, a total of 15,588 samples have been collected per 10 lakh population in Ambala district", further added Dr Kuldeep.
