Tech News July 9 LIVE Updates: Qualcomm has finally launched its next-generation mid-cycle flagship chipset, Snapdragon 865 Plus. In this new chipset, the company has increased the processor speed to 3.1GHz from 2.84GHz. The Adreno 650 GPU has also seen an upgrade and can now perform 10 per cent faster in graphic rendering. The new flagship SoC comes with the FastConnect 6900 suite that brings support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.

Soon after Qualcomm announced Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset, brands like Asus and Lenovo confirmed new smartphones powered by the chipset. Asus confirmed that Snapdragon 865 Plus processor will power ROG Phone 3. The phone is set to launch on July 22 globally. Lenovo has not revealed when its Legion Phone will be made available in the market.

Google has silently started rolling out the second beta version of its upcoming Android 11 mobile operating system. With this release, the operating system is very close to a stable launch. The company has stated that beta 2 has reached a new milestone called ‘platform stability’, this means if an app works on this version then it will work properly with no additional bugs in the Android 11 stable build when it releases. With the beta 2 version, Google has only made small tweaks and refinements to the software, and no major changes have been made.

Tech News July 9 LIVE Updates: Asus has announced that it will launch ROG Phone 3 globally on July 22. It will be the first phone to launch with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processor. Apart from this, Lenovo has also announced that it will soon be launching its first gaming smartphone, called Legion Phone,  with Snapdragon 865 Plus processor.

OnePlus Nord Cameras

OnePlus has revealed that its upcoming affordable smartphone, OnePlus Nord will feature a dual camera setup on the front and a quad camera setup on the back. It revealed this via an Instagram post.

Redmi Note 9 India launch

Xiaomi has confirmed to launch Redmi Note 9 in India. The company has previously launched Redmi Note 9 Pro series in the country. Similar to all other Note devices this one is also expected to be priced under Rs 10,000. The company is yet to reveal the launch date of the Redmi Note 9.

Airtel Thanks app brings regional language support

Airtel today announced the launch of vernacular support on Airtel Thanks app. The prepaid mobile customers can now access Airtel Thanks app in multiple Indian languages - Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Malayalam and Punjabi. The feature is avsilable on Android and will be available on iOS soon. Support for several other Indian regional languages, including Kannadda, Assamese, and Odia will be introduced in the coming weeks.

The device recently appeared on TENAA with a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 144Hz refresh rate, up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB internal storage, Android 10 operating system with own ROG UI on top, 6,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging, 64MP triple camera setup on the back, 14MP front camera.

The device recently appeared on TENAA, revealing key specifications. It will sport a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 144Hz refresh rate. It will come with 8GB, 12GB and 16GB of RAM along with 128GB, 256GB and 512GB internal storage.The device will run Google's Android 10 operating system with the company’s own ROG UI on top. All of this will be backed by a 6,000mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging. It is being said that the device will come with a triple camera setup on the back, consisting of a 64MP primary sensor. On the front, it will reportedly feature a 14MP sensor for taking selfies.
