Share market update: Pharma shares advance; Torrent Pharma gains 2%

NEW DELHI: Pharma shares were trading higher in Thursday's session with their sectoral index trading up.

Shares of Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 1.84 per cent) , Alkem Laboratories (up 0.71 per cent) , Aurobindo Pharma (up 0.69 per cent) , Lupin (up 0.54 per cent) , Cipla (up 0.53 per cent) , Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 0.23 per cent) and Divis Laboratories (up 0.13 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Pharma index was trading 0.22 per cent up at 9970.3 around 12:09PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 68.35 points at 10774.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 263.0 points at 36592.01.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, SAIL, SBI, Tata Motors, YES Bank, NALCO, Hindalco Inds., ICICI Bank and GAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
