AHMEDABAD: A 29-year-old woman Deepika koyetiya has lodged a complaint against her husband Jignesh, father-in-law Praveenbhai and mother-in-law Chandrikaben on Wednesday at Meghaninagar police station for demanding a dowry of Rs 5 lakh and then throwing her from the first floor of the house with an intention to kill her. The woman has alleged that her husband used to be suspicious and always beat her telling her that she has an extra marital affair.
Inspector DJ Chudasma of Meghaninagar police station said they have registered an offence under section 307, 498(a) , 323, 294(b), 506(1), 114 of IPC and prevention of Dowry act.
"We are investigating the details mentioned in the case and as when we get evidence action will be taken against the accused" said Inspector Chudasma.
Lodging an FIR from civil hospital where the woman is under treatment, she has mentioned that she has two sons, one 7-year-old and second is 5-year old.
According to the FIR, she was married to Jignesh in May 2010. After that she used to live with her husband, father in law and mother in law on the first floor of the house.
According to police, the woman has claimed that her husband used to be falsely suspicious about her character and used to beat her but never raised her voice to save her marriage.
The woman has mentioned in the FIR that in October 2019 while checking the phone of her husband she found that her husband was in touch with another woman. "The victim woman informed about the alleged extra marital affair of her husband to her father in law and mother in law. Later her husband quarreled with her and beat her up saying why did she tell about the affair to his parents and then threatened to kill her.
The FIR says this time her father-in-law and mother-in-law also quarreled with her and demanded dowry of Rs 5 lakh or they will drive her out of the house.
According to the FIR, on Wednesday while she was talking to her sister on the phone, her in laws and husband got angry with her and beat her up. They even told her not to talk with one at her parental house.
The FIR claims that suddenly, thereafter all the three picked her up and threw her up from the first floor of the house. The woman was then shifted to civil hospital for treatment.
"We will soon summon the accused as we gather evidence" as Inspector Chudasma of Meghaninagar police station.
