Assam: Ex-Silchar MP Sushmita Dev tests positive for Covid-19

SILCHAR: Former Congress MP from Silchar and president of All India Mahila Congress Committee Sushmita Dev tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, health officials said. Dev said she was asymptomatic and will follow all necessary protocols. She is among 24 fresh cases recorded in the district on Wednesday.
The Congress leader has been admitted to Covid ward of Silchar Medical Collage and Hospital.
Meanwhile, Hailakandi district reported nine fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the district’s tally to 374.
The have been admitted to the isolation ward of Hailakandi SK Roy Civil Hospital, an official communiqué read.
