Karnataka: Woman dies in Puttur wall collapse incident

MANGALURU: A 50-year-old homemaker died on Tuesday after a retaining wall of a neighbouring house collapsed on her in Parladka, about 50km from Mangaluru.
The victim was identified as Vasanti. According to the police, the incident took place around 12.30pm when Vasanti was working in the backyard of her house. The retaining wall of her neighbouring house suddenly collapsed, and she got trapped under the debris. Her body was recovered after an operation that took several hours. The house was not damaged.
District minister Kota Shrinivas Poojari and other political representatives visited the spot. A case has been registered in connection with the woman's death.
