25 Trinamool leaders of Nandigram suspended

KOLKATA: Trinamool suspended 25 leaders of its party leaders of Nandigram as they were charged with siphoning off funds meant for cyclone victims. Earlier 200 party workers were showcased for their alleged role in cyclone fund misappropriation.
Trinamool leaders including panchayat functionaries and block-level leaders were suspended for their failure to provide a satisfactory reply, a senior leader said.
Sisir Adhikari, Trinamool MP and district president of East Midnapore said that those involved in siphoning off funds of cyclone-hit people were going to face action.
However, Dilip Ghosh BJP MP and state president said that it was an eyewash of Trinamool. He said if the Trinamool was really serious to weed out corruption then they should have lodged FIR for defalcation of funds meant for cyclone-hit people.
