Pune: Man held on colleague’s rape charge

PUNE: The Hinjewadi police on Sunday arrested a 30-year-old employee of a private company on the charge of repeatedly raping his 35-year-old woman colleague over the last one year on the pretext of marrying her and taking care of her son.
The woman lodged a first information report with the police when the man went back on his ‘promise’ after she became pregnant, police said.
Assistant inspector Anand Pagare of the Hinjewadi police told TOI, “The suspect was on Monday produced before a local court that remanded him in police custody till July 8.”
