Representatioal ImageAMBALA: Following the direction from the Directorate of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Department regarding online reporting of deaths in the state, the Ambala City Municipal Corporation and Ambala Sadar Municipal Council (MC) has recently initiated the process and these civic bodies are going to record the data of deaths online from cremation grounds.
The move has been initiated to implement same-day recording of the deaths as in some cases people usually delay the registration process due to various reasons.
“The government has developed the online application for online reporting of the deaths by the operators of the burial/cremation grounds. In this regard, training has been already conducted on June 7, 2019, July 11, 2019, and May 29, 2020. Nodal officers for the implementation of the online reporting of deaths have been identified who will be responsible for monitoring whether online reporting of the death is being done by the operators on the platform or not and must ensure 100% reporting is being done,” the order states.
Ambala Sadar MC secretary Rajesh Kumar said, “The civic body will be providing tablets to the officials of the cremation grounds so that they can report the deaths the same day when somebody is cremated at their facilities and upload the data on the server.”
