A mother has shared a simple recipe for healthy homemade rice paper rolls which look identical to ones over two and a half times the price from popular Vietnamese takeaway chain, Roll'd.
The woman posted in an Australian cookery group on Facebook telling members she had made the rolls for her children using a $1.50 packet of Vermicelli noodles, a $3.30 jar of barbecue sauce and leftover chicken thighs, carrots and capsicums.
She made six large rolls from roughly $10 worth of ingredients, while a single rice paper roll from Roll'd costs between $4.20 and $4.70.
Buying six ready-made rolls would have cost her a minimum of $25.20, which means she saved $15.20 and kept her kids just as happy as if she had ordered takeout.

Photos of the rolls have been liked 315 times since they were shared on Sunday, with many saying they couldn't tell the difference between the homemade and store-bought snacks.
In response to questions from members of the group, the mother said she oven baked the chicken in KanTong's Chinese Barbecue cooking sauce which is available in leading supermarkets like Coles and Woolworths.
Then she chopped carrots and capsicums into thin strips and fried them over a low heat with crushed garlic, mixed herbs and a pinch of salt and pepper.

The mum didn't say which brand of rice paper she wrapped the ingredients in, but sheets of Valcom Rice Paper are available at Coles for $2.45 per packet.
People were impressed by the quality and affordability of her home cooking.
'These look amazing, great job!' one woman said.
A second said: 'I really want to try these!'
'My mouth is watering, I have to make some,' said a third.
Others who seemed less interested in cooking up a storm said photos of the snacks had prompted them to order takeaway from Roll'd.
Roll'd was founded by Bao Hoang, a Vietnamese-Australian who channelled his love for his mother's rice paper rolls into a booming restaurant franchise with 71 outlets Australia-wide.
