A day after the gruesome discovery of a burnt body of a minor girl near Adavathur village in Trichy, police have began investigating the case with the highest priority.

The incident came to light when locals found a body near a garbage disposal area on Monday late afternoon and informed the police.

The girl, a 9th class student, was said to have left her house at 12:15 pm to throw trash.

The 11 special squads led by Trichy Zone SP, Ziaul Haqe have began investigation in the matter. More than 10 people have been probed in connection with the case.
