Earlier this year, we broke the news that Rajinikanth’s 169th film will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by his good friend Kamal Haasan. The latest update is that Rajini will be getting a whopping remuneration of Rs 120 crore for the film. A source told DT Next, “Rajinikanth was initially paid Rs 110 crore for Annaatthe before coronavirus brought the production to a halt. Though there will be a slash in his pay once things resume, we do not know upto what percentage the makers will negotiate. However, for his 169th film that will be produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Kamal has agreed to pay his friend Rs 120 crore, in what could be Rajinikanth’s last film before he plunges into full time politics.” The source added that Rajini will finish the shoot of Annaatthe before March and immediately start shooting for Thalaivar 169 and release it for Deepavali 2021.
