Bull race organised in J&K village, residents booked for flouting Covid norms

JAMMU: Taking strict action against some people for violating Covid-19 guidelines in a village in J&K’s Rajouri district, police on Tuesday booked some residents for organising a bull race flouting social distancing norms.
Sharing details of the violation, Rajouri SSP Chandan Kohli said, “Some residents of Derian village had organised a bull race, leading to a huge gathering of people in clear violation of orders for maintaining social distancing imposed to check the spread of coronavirus.”
The matter was verified and information was found authentic, after which a case under Section 188 of IPC was registered. The SSP said further investigation has been started in this regard, adding, “people are requested not to indulge in such violations of norms.”
