MUMBAI: An inspector, two constables and an accused from the Manickpur police in
Vasai (west) in Maharashtra capital Mumbai tested positive.
The swab samples of 25 cops of the police station have been taken for testing. They are in home quarantine.
The police officer and two constables have been admitted to the isolation ward of a government hospital in Vasai. The accused is in the prisoners ward at rural hospital, Palghar. The test report came on Saturday after which the cops were admitted to the hospital and those who came in their contact have been home quarantined.
The cops were on duty when migrants were heading to their native towns at Vasai railway station. The accused was in the lock-up when he tested positive.
On Monday, 211 persons tested positive in Vasai-Virar taking the total to 6,170. The deaths are 126.
