Australian consumer organisation CHOICE has put popular brands of toilet paper to the test to find the best on the market.
A panel of experts trialled 48 toilet papers - including two-ply, three-ply, four-ply, hypoallergenic and recycled - from supermarket brands such as Kleenex, Quilton, Sorbent, Aldi, Woolworths and Coles.
The experts rated the essential items based on softness, strength and quality, value for money and whether it can resist puncturing or disintegrate quickly.
Sorbent Gold Skin Comfort With Vitamin E 4 Rolls ($3.30) proved to be the pick of the pack after scoring a stellar 80 per cent for overall satisfaction.

Australian consumer organisation CHOICE has given its verdict on toilet papers after putting popular products to the test to find the best on the market
The three-ply variety scored 80 per cent in the disintegration test and achieved 90 per cent for softness.
In second place, Quilton Gold 4 Ply Softness White 12 Rolls ($5.50) earned an overall score of 79 per cent. It received 71 per cent in the disintegration test and 90 per cent for softness.
Sorbent Gold Silky Soft 3 Ply King Size Sheets 4 Rolls ($3.30) also scored an overall 79 per cent, along with 78 per cent in the disintegration test and 90 per cent for softness.
Supermarket owned label Coles So Soft Thick & Strong Double Length 3 Ply 4 Rolls and So Soft Thick & Strong 3 Ply 8 Rolls ($3.70) both received an overall 77 per cent.

The two products both scored 85 per cent in the disintegration test and 80 per cent for softness.
Aldi Confidence Hypoallergenic Toilet Tissue 4 Ply Quilted Softness 8 Rolls ($3.99) earned an overall score of 76 per cent. It received an impressive 90 per cent in the disintegration test and 70 per cent for softness.
Rounding up the top 10, Emporia Skin Sense 3 Ply Unscented White Embossed Ultra Soft Touch Of Lotion ($5), Sorbent Gold 3 Ply Ultra Soft 4 Rolls ($3.30), Who Gives a C*** 100% Recycled Double Length 24 Rolls ($30) and Woolworths Essentials White Toilet Tissue 2 Ply 12 Rolls ($3.65) all earned 76 per cent.
Coles 100% Recycled Toilet Tissue 2 Ply 12 Rolls ($5.50) earned the lowest score of just 44 per cent. The experts gave the product just three per cent in the disintegration test and 55 per cent for softness.
Kleenex Double Length 4 Rolls ($5) and Kleenex Complete Clean 4 Rolls ($3.30) both received 50 per cent after scoring 0 per cent in the disintegration test.
