Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa PATIALA: Showing no let up in his campaign to free the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) from the grip of a single family, former Rajya Sabha member Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa on Monday announced to float a new political party, the formal announcement of which will be made from Ludhiana on Tuesday.
While interacting with media persons at Kauli village, Dhindsa, who had resigned from all party posts of the Shiromani Akali Dal, said the party workers and other leaders will decide who will lead the new political outfit, which is likely to be named Shiromani Pathak Dal.
He said their fight was to liberate the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee for which they were ready to join hands with all like minded people, who saw the Badal family as a threat to the panthic ideologies.
Dhindsa said the new political party will contest all elections including that SGPC elections and once placed in power they will order detailed inquiries into all the wrongdoings committed in the SGPC funds by the Badal family.
In reply to a query, he said following the detection of 'langar scam' at Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib strict action should have been taken against those responsible. He said the accused persons should have been dismissed from the SGPC, rather they are being protected under the grab of an enquiry.
While blaming Sukhbir Singh Badal for exploiting the resources of the SGPC, he said Prakash Singh Badal was also party to all that was wrong in the SGPC and the Shiromani Akali Dal.
On the issue of Khalistan Dhindsa said having a separate state was not their agenda. " Our party can stand up against any unjust government to protect the rights of Punjab, but will never go against the country."
