PCMC claims good quality water supply after residents complains

Pimpri: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is receiving alarming complaints of increasing number of vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal pain due to impure water.

Ramdas Tambe, city engineer, Department of Water Supply and Drainage, Department of Environment at Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation talking to Sakal Times, "According to the various complaints received many were about chlorine diluted in more proportion. The water from the distribution system was inspected."

He went on, "Having a safe amount of chlorine in the water is a sign that the water is safe and drinkable. Molecular life tests have also been carried out by taking water samples to make sure that there are no harmful bacteria or viruses in the water. The water in the distribution system has been found to be safe and drinkable."

Also, the water supplied by the corporation has been ensured from laboratory for its safety and portability. "Citizens should not be scared as the water distributed by the corporation is safe and drinkable. vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal pain can be caused by viral or other reasons," he added.
