MANGALURU: Two children were killed and four houses damaged in a landslide which took place in Banglagudde, near Gurupura, here on Sunday. The children were trapped under the debris of the landslide removed after several hours of rescue operation.
According to police, four houses have been completely damaged due to landslides so far. The victims have been identified as Safwan, 16 and Sahla, 10. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon and soon after the incident, rescue teams were pressed into the service.
Police also added that apart from four houses completely damaged, eight houses are on the verge of collapse. The residents of these houses have been shifted to other safer places and rescue operations have continued in the area.
