KANPUR: The confession by gangster Vikas Dubey's close aide, Daya Shankar Agnihotri, who was nabbed following an encounter in Kalyanpur on Sunday morning, has bolstered the suspicion that police 'moles' had tipped off Dubey about the raid.
In a video, widely shared on social media, Agnihotri is seen telling that Vikas had received a phone call from local police station about the police raid.
Agnihotri also revealed that when Vikas came to know about the police raid, he asked his 25 to 30 men to reach his ancestral home in Bikru village.
When Daya was questioned that how Vikas managed to kill so many policemen, he said that Dubey and his associates fired several rounds of bullets for many hours.
The UP STF has been questioning Chaubeypur station officer (SO) Vinay Tiwari, who is under the scanner after the failed raid. He has been suspended.
