India reported the highest single-day spike of 24,850 new coronavirus cases and 613 deaths in the last 24 hours on Sunday. The number of positive cases stand at 6,73,165 including 2,44,814 active cases. The death toll is at 19,268, according to Health Ministry.
Maharashtra's coronavirus case count on Saturday rose to 2,00,064 with a record single-day spike of 7,074. With 295 deaths, the death toll due to the pandemic in the state rose to 8,671, said the health department. Meanwhile, the rate of cases turning out positive in Delhi declined to 10.58 per cent after rising to nearly 37 per cent, and the average number of cases has also dropped by almost 1,000 over the previous week.
