'America loves India' was the response of US President Donald Trump after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's greeted him on the occasion of the 244th Independence Day of the United States.
On Saturday, PM Modi congratulated Trump and people of the US as the country marks its 244th anniversary of Independence on July 4.
"I congratulate US President Donald Trump and the people of the USA on the 244th Independence Day of the USA. As the world's largest democracies, we cherish freedom and human enterprise that this day celebrates," Modi had tweeted.
Responding to the PM's greetings on Twitter, the US President said, "Thank you my friend. America loves India!"
The exchange on Twitter was hailed by people from both countries as it went viral on the microblogging website.
July 4, also known as Independence Day, is a federal holiday in the US commemorating the Declaration of Independence of the United States in 1776.
