Man shot dead at Dharwad

DHARWAD: A 40 year-old man was shot dead in the early hours of Sunday at Dharwad. The incident occurred at Ganesh Nagar in Madihal of Dharwad at around 1.30am. Two persons were injured in the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Shivayogi Bhavikatti, a resident of Shirur village in Navalgund taluk of Dharwad district. He had been staying in a rented house in Ganesh Nagar since last six months. Two persons who were injured have been identified as Iranna Ingalalli and Sunil Konannavar. They have been admitted to the hospital.
Police said Shrishail M G a relative of Shivayogi fired from his licenced revolver at the trio and fled. The injured were shifted to the hospital where Shivayogi succumbed to the injuries. Dispute over property is said to be reason for the murder. Dharwad Town Police rushed to the spot and conducted mahazar. A case has been registered at the town police station and investigation is on.
