Chandigarh: CBI to grill accused for 4 more days

CHANDIGARH: In a bribe case involving suspended SHO of Manimajra police station Jaswinder Kaur, the special court of the CBI has further extended the CBI custody of accused Bhagwan Singh for four more days, on Saturday.
The CBI stated in the court that the accused, Jaswinder Kaur and others, have been absconding till date, but the CBI wanted to confront Bhagwan Singh to find out conspiracy between the accused persons.
The CBI court ordered that in view of the seriousness of allegations against the accused, Bhagwan Singh is liable to be remanded to CBI custody for four days. During the resumed hearing of the case, Bhagwan Singh was produced before the court through video-conferencing on completion of his police custody. The CBI had sought custody of five more days.
The CBI stated in the court that Bhagwan Singh was not coming out with true facts and was changing his versions time and again. It was further pleaded by CBI prosecutor K P Singh that his custodial interrogation is essential to find out conspiracy between all the accused persons.
