Man kills uncle, 8-yr-old over affair

Ghaziabad: A 27-year-old man was arrested after his 38-year-old uncle and the latter’s eight-year-old daughter were found with their throats slit in their Sahibabad house on Friday morning.
Police said that the bodies of Abdula and his daughter Hafza had multiple stab wounds. The bodies were spotted by Abdula’s cousin, Parvez, who stays in the neighbourhood. “I came to see him around 8am but even after 15 minutes of calling, no one came down to open the gate of the house. Then, I entered the house through a neighbour’s terrace but saw Abdula and Hafza lying in a pool of blood. I Immediately called the neighbours and also informed the police,” said Parvez.
Post the nationwide lockdown, Abdula, from Bulandshahr, had opened a grocery shop on the ground floor of his house. Earlier, he used to work as a cobbler.
After receiving the information, a police team was sent to the spot and the bodies were sent for autopsy.
During investigation, the cops found out that Abdula’s wife, Rukhsana, was in an illicit relationship with Abdula’s nephew, Saffir, for the past three years.
A few days ago, the couple had an argument over this after which Rukhsana went to her father’s house, along with their two other children. “When Saffir got to know about the fight, he got angry and decided to kill Abdula. At night, Saffir entered the house by climbing the water pipe leading to the terrace,” said SSP Kalanidhi Naithani.
Saffir saw the door of the room open and entered, said police. “He slit Abdula’s throat with a knife while he was sleeping. Hearing the father’s cry, Hafza woke up and tried to flee but Saffir grabbed hold of her and stabbed her multiple times,” said the SSP. According to the investigation, Rukhsana was not involved in the crime, said police.
After killing Abdula and his daughter, Saffir returned to his house. “When he came at Abdula’s house hearing the news of his murder, he behaved as ignorant but police got suspicious when his mobile number was put on surveillance and got the call records with Rukhsana. CCTV footage from a nearby camera also captured him going into Abdula’s house around 1am. Later, he accepted his crime,” said the SSP.
Saffir was finally arrested in the evening and booked under IPC Section 302 (murder).
