14 people have been arrested smuggling gold at Jaipur airport. These people had brought about 31.99 kg of gold from the UAE and Saudi Arabia via two charter planes. All these people brought gold in the emergency light battery. Sona is in the form of a biscuit. Which weighs around 900 grams. The price of this gold is said to be around Rs 15.67 crore. The operation of flights is currently banned due to the lockdown. The flight is being operated to bring migrant Rajasthanis stranded abroad due to Corona. It is named Evacuation Flights. A total of 6 evacuation flights reached Jaipur by late Friday night. A total of 14 people were found smuggling gold on 2 of these charter flights.

According to the information, the first flight SpiceJet's AG-9055 reached Jaipur from UAE's Ras Al Khaimah. In this flight, 9.30 kg of gold was recovered from three smugglers. It was estimated to cost around Rs 4.60 crore. After which late-night SpiceJet flight SG-9647 reached Jaipur from Riyadh. It caught 22.652 kg of gold from 11 passengers. It is estimated to cost Rs 11.3 crore.


Commissioner of Customs Subhash Aggarwal said that all the people were searched on suspicion. During this time, gold biscuits kept in emergency lights were recovered.
