Pimpri-Chinchwad: Janta Curfew on Sunday to curtail the spread of COVID-19

Maximum number of coronavirus cases in PCMC limit have been reported from areas such as Wakad, Akurdi, Pimpri and Chinchwad.  These four areas report over 60 per cent of the total cases in Pimpri-Chinchwad area.

Pimpri-Chinchwad has already crossed the mark of 3,000 coronavirus cases. In the wake of continuous surge in COVID-19, PCMC (Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation) Commissioner Shravan Hardikar has appealed residents of Pimpri Chinchwad to observe 'Janta Curfew' on Sunday and Thursday. Also, he asked people to wear face mask while coming outside from home.

Over 200 new coronavirus patients were reported in PCMC limit while four people lost their lives due to the contagion on Saturday.

Though the mortality rate of the Pimpri Chinchwad is low as compared to Pune city, the graph of COVID-19 has not flattened its curve i  the industrial town. The mortality rate in PCMC limit is 1.42 per cent whereas Pune city has 3.52 per cent mortality rate.

To curtail the spread of coronavirus in Pimpri-Chinchwad, the decision has been taken by the Mayor and PCMC Commissioner.
