Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has assigned responsibilities relating to COVID containment measures to ministers in his cabinet today. According to the new arrangement, the Medical Education Minister Dr. K Sudhakar has been given policy matters, guidelines, war room and the responsibility of interacting with the media on COVID.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr.Ashwathnarayan has been mandated with setting up and functioning of COVID Care Centres meant for asymptomatic patients. Revenue Minister R Ashok and CM’s Political Secretary Vishwanath will focus on availability of beds in private COVID hospitals.
In an effort to avoid overlapping and for a clear division of work, the Chief Minister allocated different duties to his cabinet colleagues today. Briefing the media persons, Medical Education Minister Dr.K Sudhakar informed that they will work as a team to overcome challenges posed by the pandemic. He also said that complete lockdown will be imposed only on Sundays and night curfew will continue all days .
Seal down of containment zones will be enforced with firm hands. Dr.Sudhakar said that during the Task Force meeting today Chief Minister has asked the Ministers with COVID control responsibilities to ensure that more and more tests are conducted and people with coronavirus infection are provided ambulance and hospital beds especially in Bengaluru where the pandemic has spiked since Unlock 1.
