Covid-19: Five more die in Odisha, state toll rises to 34

BHUBANESWAR: Five more persons died of Covid-19 in Odisha increasing the virus death toll in state to 34, the health department said.
Another Covid-19 positive person died of comorbidities increasing the number of Covid-19 positive patients dying due to non-Covid reasons to 9. All the deceased were men.
Three of the deceased, men aged 50, 35 and 27, were from Ganjam. The 50-year-old had diabetes and hypertension while no such associated health risks have been known for the other two. The death toll in Ganjam rose to 20.
Two deaths were from Bhubaneswar. A 51 years old man was also suffering from pleural tuberculosis. The other, 64 years old man was suffering from diabetes.
An update on the health department Covid-19 dashboard shows, 495 more test positive for the virus, raising number of total infected in state to 8,601. As many as 216 new positive cases were from Ganjam, increasing the district total to 2,066. The state now has 2,853 positive cases. Total 5,705 patients have recovered.
