A rapid spread of COVID-19 contagion has been witnessed by the city from the past few days. Every day around 800 to 900 new cases are registered. Therefore the district administration, Municipal Corporation and police administration are working tirelessly to get control over the spread of COVID-19.

Ever since the lockdown has been relaxed in some amount people are constantly violating the physical distancing by crowding at several places. Several people unnecessarily coming out of the home is also high. The number of patients is also increasing in non-restricted areas of the city.

Against this backdrop, the police administration has once again started taking strict measures to ensure the safety of the citizens. Accordingly, there will be restrictions on the number of people travelling per vehicle. Now only three persons including driver will be allowed to travel in rickshaws, taxis and four-wheelers. Also, wedding ceremonies and other social gatherings will be allowed to have 50 people. The city police have warned the citizens that violation of these will invite serious action against them.
