Constable will now be able to investigate minor criminal cases in Gujarat

Nishstra police constables with experience of five years in Gujarat will also be able to investigate such criminal cases that can carry up to five years of imprisonment. The state government announced this through a notification.

It said that this step will not only help in speedy disposal of criminal cases but will also increase the morale of the lower level personnel of the Police Department. State DGP Shivanand Jha welcomed it and said that the quality of the investigation would improve.
