MITE secures all India third position in Guvi’s RPA Skill-a-Thon

MANGALURU: The Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering, Moodbidri secured the third position in the All India Robotic Process Automation Skillathon conducted by Guvi and UiPath during June 2020.
The Recognition ceremony for the top institutions was held on July 3 through a virtual ceremony. The Skillathon event was conducted to provide students an opportunity to add a new skill and get exposure to the Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The event conducted in the month of June witnessed 400 plus colleges across the country and about 60,000 participants. Around 2600 students of MITE had participated in this national event, and got certified. The evolving technologies in Artificial Intelligence and Automation is creating enormous opportunities for the industries and the economy.
The chief guest of the Recognition Ceremony, Buddha Chandrashekar, chief coordinating officer, AICTE, MHRD, mentioned that AICTE is turning towards a student-centric approach to create skilled professionals. He stressed on the need of students to have industrial experience while pursuing graduation.
Narendra U P, dean (training and placement), MITE, represented MITE in the Recognition Ceremony. In his address, he thanked UiPath and GUVI for providing a unique learning opportunity to the students to leverage their skills in the automation domain. He mentioned that ‘With the Covid-19 posing new challenges, it is a unique opportunity to the students and young engineers to innovate and invent new solutions that can aid in the contactless work environment.
