NEW DELHI: Delhi University is likely to extend the dates of its registration process by a few days. The registration was to end on July 4, but the university will announce an extension to make sure more applicants get a chance. So far by 5.30 pm on Friday, less than 3 lakh applicants had registered on the DU website for UG admissions.
The extension has been touted as a remedy to increase registration numbers and allow applicants to pay off their registration fees and complete their registration process. By Friday evening, while 2,94,228 applicants had registered for the UG admissions, only 1,70,971 had paid for their forms. By June 14 last year, DU had received over 3.4 lakh registrations, with over 2.38 lakh students paying for the registration.
For PG admissions, the total registration was 1,11,217 but only 71,782 applicants had paid for the forms by 6 pm. For Mphil/PhD the total registration was 18,603 with 6,300 applicants paying for registration.
