HYDERABAD: A man from Telangana who suffered paralysis during a visit to Dubai was helped to return home by philanthropists who contributed to buy him an air ticket.
Nagula Gangadhar (51) of Dammannpet Village, Dharpalli Mandal, Nizamabad District was put on the Vande Bharat flight on Saturday. The flight will arrive in Hyderabad around 9.30 pm.
Social worker Janagama Srinivas who also was on the flight urged the Telangana government to provide medical assistance to Gangadhar.
Gangadhar had gone to Dubai on a visit visa and was in search of a job. During this time, he suffered paralysis and was admitted to Rashid Hospital Dubai. The paralysis affected his leg and arm.
Since the patient did not even have money to buy a ticket to return to India, a philanthropist Ashok Kotecha provided tickets to him and his escort Morthad Gundla Ramesh with the help of BAPS Swami Narayan Temple Trust, Jain Seva Mission, and Dubai Computers Group.
