Gujarat: Surat rural records highest single day Covid-19 cases; 3 deaths

SURAT: Surat rural recorded single day highest 64 Covid-19 on Saturday, taking the total number of positive cases to 757 in the district. According to health department officials, three Covid-19 patients succumbed to the virus on Saturday.
"Those who succumbed to Covid-19 included an 86-year-old man from Mortha village of Mandvi, 56-year-old man from Digas village of Kamrej and 74-year-old man from Umrakh village of Bardoli taluka of Surat district," said an official. With these three deaths, a total 25 patients have died due to Covid-19 in Surat district.
Out of the total 64 cases, highest cases were reported from Olpad and Kamrej taluka with 15 each case on Saturday. Palsana, Choryasi and Mangrol taluka of Surat reported eight cases each.
"On Saturday, 22 Covid-19 patients were discharged taking the total number of discharged patients to 382 in the district," said an official.
In other parts of South Gujarat, Bharuch reported 18 cases, Navsari (13) and Valsad district reported 19 fresh Covid-19 cases on Saturday.
