India reported the highest single-day spike of 24,850 new cases and 613 deaths in the last 24 hours on Sunday. The number of positive cases stand at 679,520 including 247,067 active cases. The death toll is at 19,380, according to

Maharashtra's tally on Sunday rose to 206,619 with 6,555 new cases. With 295 deaths, the death toll due to the pandemic in the state rose to 8,671, said the health department. Meanwhile, the rate of cases turning out positive in Delhi declined to 10.58 per cent after rising to nearly 37 per cent, and the average number of cases has also dropped by almost 1,000 over the previous week.
