Uber shuts Mumbai office, cab services not to be affected

MUMBAI: Uber has closed its Mumbai office and asked its employees to work from home till December, sources said. But the good news is that Uber will continue to provide cab services in the city, according to sources.
"Uber continues to provide a high level of service to all its riders in Mumbai,” said a company spokesperson.
The sources further said, “Uber’s Mumbai office closure comes almost a month after the ride-hailing firm announced a global downsizing exercise that affected around 6,700 employees worldwide.”
The India layoffs affected 600 employees across segments, including customer and driver support, business development, legal, finance, policy, and marketing verticals.
