Kanpur DM visits encounter site, says 'keeping eye on everything'

Eight policemen were killed while raiding house of history-sheeter Vikas Dubey in Bikaru village of Kanpur on July 03.

Later during search operation, two criminals were also neutralised by cops.

Kanpur District Magistrate (DM) Dr Brahma Deo Ram Tiwari visited encounter spot in Bikaru village.

While speaking to ANI, Dr Brahma Deo Ram Tiwari said, "Police is running its operation and we are keeping an eye on everything here.

We are working and investigation as per the norms." Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted, "Uttar Pradesh will never forget the martyred policemen who had discharged their duties with unmatched courage.

Their sacrifice will not go in vain"

Police seized a huge quantity of beef from a container truck in Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam on June 21. The container was caught at Purushothapuram checkpoint. Two drivers of the vehicle have been taken into custody. The container truck had 1300 packets of beef, each weighing 20 kilograms, police said. Ichchapuram Sub-Inspector (SI) Satyanarayana said, "Acting on a tip-off from Bajrang Dal unit of Behrampur in Odisha, police intercepted a container truck carrying 26,000 kilograms of beef." "We received a phone call and accordingly raided the vehicle at around 09:00 am in the morning," he added. The police have seized the container and its contents. Legal formalities are underway.
