Patil said, "Pankaja will be given an important role in the national executive committee of the party. She will definitely be a member of the core committee of the party. Her role will be crucial with the central and state core committee responsibility."
Mumbai: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) State President, Chandrakant Patil, on Friday, announced that party leader Pankaja Munde from Marathwada region will soon be given a 'major responsibility' in the national executive committee.
Interestingly, Pankaja's sister Pritam Munde has been made Vice-President while Raksha Khadse, daughter-in-law of another disgruntled party leader Eknath Khadse, has been made secretary in the newly announced state executive team of the party.
Patil was questioned in a press conference when Pankaja's name did not figure in the state executive committee list of the party. To which he replied, that she will soon be given an important role in the center.
Patil said, "Pankaja will be given an important role in the national executive committee of the party. She will definitely be a member of the core committee of the party. Her role will be crucial with the central and state core committee responsibility."
"Pritam Munde and Raksha Khadse are members of Parliament representing their constituencies from the state. They have been given a certain responsibility because of their work. Nobody is disgruntled in our party. It is not true that Pankaja will be given this responsibility because she is unhappy with the party," Patil claimed.
Patil also declared that Ashish Shelar and Madhuri Misal will be the chief whip and whip of the party, respectively in the state legislative assembly. Keshav Upadhye will be the chief spokesperson of the party in the state.
Patil clarified that the announcement of the BJP executive committee was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak in the state. "Any announcement must be made after consultation with all stakeholders and getting them along together. There are 12 state vice-presidents along with me. Also, there are five general secretaries, one treasurer, 12 secretaries, one organisational general secretary and six organisational secretaries," Patil said.
