Sathankulam custodial deaths: Suspended head constable Muthuraj arrested

TUTICORIN: Suspended head constable at the Sathankulam police station Muthuraj, who is an accused in the father-son (P Jeyaraj and J Beniks) custodial death case, was arrested by local police and handed over to the CB-CID on Friday night.
With this arrest, all the five policemen and officers whose names feature in the FIR in the case have been arrested.
Muthuraj, who had been on the run, was nabbed by the Tuticorin district police from Poosanur village near Vilathikulam.
A senior police officer said based on information on the motorcycle Muthuraj was using, an alert was sounded. A local police team led by Vilathikulam DSP Beer Mohideen traced the motorcycle at Poosanur around 9.45pm.
Muthuraj was found hiding in a house and nabbed from there around 10pm. By 10.30pm, he was handed over to the CB-CID police at their office in Tuticorin.
