June PV sales: Maruti Suzuki Alto tops, Hyundai Creta pips Kia Seltos

NEW DELHI: The automobile market is returning to normalcy after the Covid-induced lockdown steamrolled the sales.
Carmakers have released the sales data for June and, undoubtedly, a Maruti Suzuki car holds the pole position. Here are the top 8 cars sold for the month of June:
Maruti Suzuki Alto
Reigning on number is Maruti Suzuki Alto as the country's best-selling car for June 2020. Maruti sold over 7,298 units of its hatchback putting Alto right back as India’s top-selling car after quite some time.

Hyudai Creta
Following Maruti Suzuki Alto, India’s second best-selling car is Hyundai Creta. Now, for the second time in a row, Creta manages to be the country’s top selling SUV. Hyundai sold over 7,207 units of the SUV in June 2020. Recently the company recorded more than 40,000 bookings for the new Hyundai Creta.

Kia Seltos
Resting in third place, we have Kia Seltos losing to Hyundai Creta just by a variation of a few units. Taking a big leap from selling 1611 units in May, Kia has sold 7,114 units of Seltos in June 2020.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR
At 6972 units, WagonR stood at number four. The tall-hatchback managed to get into the top-10 list, after losing out heavily in May 2020.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire
With 5,834 units, the compact sedan from the Maruti Suzuki stands at number five position, dropping from the third position on the list in May 2020.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza
Maruti's SUV-Brezza stands at number six in the list with 4,542 units sold.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno
Following Brezza, Maruti’s Baleno steals the seventh position with 4,300 units of Baleno being sold in June.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio
Maruti Suzuki’s Celerio stood at number 8 in June with 4,145 unit sales. The BS6 version of the Celerio was recently launched.
