Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin for a successful vote on the amendment of Russia's national constitution.

In a statement issued by the Russian Rashtrapati Bhavan Kremlin said, "Today there was a phone conversation between Mr. Putin and Modi. Modi congratulated Putin for the successful conduct of voting across the country on approving amendments to the Russian Constitution. ''

According to the Kremlin, Mr. Putin and Modi have also confirmed their commitment to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries, including international organizations. Discussions were also held between the two leaders to tackle the global pandemic Corona virus (COVID-19) and precautions.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said leaders of Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have also congratulated Putin. He said that Corona was also discussed during the conversation.
