In Unlock 2.0, all shops outside sealed areas permitted to open in Gurugram

GURUGRAM: The district administration on Thursday issued Unlock 2.0 guidelines for the city, two days after the Union home ministry released a set of relaxations for phased resumption of economic activity.
Under the new guidelines, which will be in effect till July 31, all shops outside the 104 containment zones will be allowed to open, deputy commissioner Amit Khatri said, adding that social distancing and other safety norms will need to be followed.
The guidelines also state there will be no restrictions on inter-state and intra-state movement of persons and goods, and no movement passes will be required for the purpose.
Restrictions in containment zones will continue as they currently are till July 31. In these areas, movement will be allowed for only essential and emergency services. A separate, and more stringent, set of curbs applies to the ‘large outbreak regions’ — areas with more than 15 cases — that will remain in force till July 14.
While schools, colleges and other educational institutions will remain closed till July 31, training institutions run by the state and central governments outside containment zones will reopen from July 15.
Several activities will continue to remain prohibited. Among these are international air travel except as permitted by the MHA and metro services. Cinemas, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars, auditorium and assembly halls will remain closed and no social, political, cultural, sports, entertainment, academic and religious gathering is allowed.
Elderly people above the age of 65 years, children below the age of 10 years, people with comorbidities and pregnant women have been advised to stay at home despite relaxations in restrictions.
The MCG said it has constituted teams to check that all shops following protocol. “We have formed six enforcement teams that are ensuring thermal scanning is taking place, social distancing norms are being followed and there are signages for queues and marked spots, and that staff and customers are wearing face masks,” said Hariom Attri, joint commissioner III, MCG.
