JCA begins online chess classes

Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur Chess Academy (JCA) started online coaching classes on Wednesday. The secretary of JCA, Pritam Singh, said on Thursday that the academy was organising virtual coaching classes for the first time owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Singh said the classes will help cadets to learn the game from their homes and avoid coming into physical contact with one another.
Singh added that Chennai-based Short Castle Company was providing support in organising the online classes.
Grandmaster Ankit Rajpara, who is from Gujarat, has been chosen as the brand ambassador of the classes.
Singh said that their advisor was none other than International Master Atanu Lahiri of Kolkata, head coach was International Master Poobesh Anand of Chennai and second head coach was Gurpreet Pal Singh of Delhi.
Although the method is new to the kids, Singh exuded confidence that soon the students will have no problem in learning the ropes of the game online.
