Aparajita SarangiBHUBANESWAR: Aparajita Sarangi, Bhubaneswar MP, on Thursday released a 56-page annual report of her works as parliamentarian since May 23 last year.
The report has mentioned about her development work in the city, public grievance redressal system, community outreach and citizen interface, Parliamentary participation, pilot projects, battling Covid-19, activities of BJP and office management.
In the developmental work in the city section, she has mentioned about taking initiatives for installation of 1000 solar lights, starting of Hanspal flyover work on NH16, commencement of Bhubaneswar-Surat flight from January 20 this year, promoting sports and Janaushadi Kendras, use of MPLAD fund for construction of roads, community centres, drinking water facility, renovation of ponds and development of cremation grounds.
Under public grievance system section, the MP has helped five needy persons to get benefit of Rs 10.5 lakh under the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF), sanctioned Rs 19 lakh for 5,500 people and helped to enroll 20 students in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs). She has helped people to get benefit under different government schemes including old age pension, disability pension and other pensions, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, MGNREGS and Jal Jeevan Mission.
She has initiated plantation programmes in her Parliament constituency where 87,000 trees have been planted so far. She has listed her visits to blocks of her constituency, ten districts of Odisha, other states and a foreign country Uganda.
In the report, it is mentioned that her attendance in the Lok Sabha is 96 per cent. She has taken part in 10 debates, raised 45 questions in the Parliament and attended meetings of Parliament Standing Committee.
The report has mentioned about AJITA launched on March 8 (international women's day). Under this initiative, 25 tailoring machines have been given to eight livelihood centres. These machines have helped to stitch 21,000 masks. A total of 1.8 lakh people have been fed in the constituency during the Covid-19 time. As many as 42,000 people have donated fund to PM Cares. Her team especially Youth for Action formed on January 12 have helped people in different times.
Besides, the MP has elaborately stated about her work on party activities and office management during last one year. "I will come up with such annual report every year during Rath Yatra time. I have always tried to do constructive politics and help people," she added.
