Coronavirus: Coimbatore district collector inspects containment zones

COIMBATORE: Coimbatore district collector K Rajamani on Thursday conducted surprise inspections in containment zones here.
Coimbatore district has nine containment areas and five of them are in the city.
The collector visited Telungupalayam, Selvapuram Housing Unit, Telungu Street at Gandhi Park and Iyappa Nagar. All the four zones are under the Coimbatore city municipal corporation.
Rajamani instructed officials to monitor the zones round-the-clock. He also directed the city municipal corporation and revenue department officials to ensure essential commodities are supplied regularly and disinfection works are carried out every day.
He met residents and people living in hostels in the containment zones.
Corporation deputy commissioner S Madhuranthagi, deputy director (public health) Rameshkumar, city health officer (CHO) Rajan and other officials accompanied Rajamani.
