EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

The Indian benchmark indices rose nearly one per cent on Thursday, tracking gains from their Asian peers.
The S&P BSE Sensex was up 400 points at 35,850 levels and the Nifty50 index reclaimed the 10,500-mark and was hovering around the 10,550 level. Mahindra & Mahindra (up 4%) was the top Sensex gainer, followed by Infosys and ONGC (both up 3%). Eveready Industries surged as much as 9 per cent on the BSE after the announcement of its March quarter results.
The trend among Nifty sectoral indices was positive, led by Nifty IT index, up 2 per cent.
